Hubby has been working on some steps down to the hut. It's quite a steep slope and in the damp or frosty weather, a tad unnerving to slither down!
You can see what I mean...
Can you see the hut in the above pic, nestling into the side of the hill? Hubby has added some steps down there too...
I've been taking some steps lately too, but they haven't been as easy as I thought they would be.
I went to an information evening at the college a week ago, and discovered that the course I want to take next year is waaaaaaay more involved than I could have imagined and probably outwith my capabilities health-wise. I still need to speak to an advisor, but at this stage it looks fairly unlikely that I'll be going to college next year.
I'm coming to terms with that, and it's okay. There are other pathways. It's hard sometimes to face up to our difficulties in life, but being open with people about our problems is sometimes the first step towards better things.
I want to send out a big hug to those of you who struggle at this time of year. Wintertime can be a bit of a battle, and problems with depression and anxiety can rear their ugly heads. Trust me, I know.
I'm finding that keeping my mind busy helps a lot. I'm about to start a new craft project, and I'm trying out some new recipes. I try to get outside for a walk every day and I keep a thankfulness journal, thanking God for His unending love.
Simple things, yes, but they keep me going.
Life can be hard work, can't it? But the hurdles we have to climb over won't last forever (even if they have been there for a long time).
One day at a time, and sometimes one step at a time.
Happy Wednesday Friends, xxx
